from 24 reviewsAs someone who struggles with severe anxiety, it is sometimes difficult for me to eat regularly. Not only do these bars taste good, but they are also well rounded nutritionally! I cannot express how nice it is to be able to have all the nutrition I need for a meal in just one bar. The ingredients also avoid elements that tend to ferment in my gut. I cannot recommend these enough! Thank you Readybar!

That was me, running on empty, with a packed schedule and no breakfast. Then I remembered the READYBAR I had tossed in my bag. It was my first time trying READYBAR and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted for a protein-packed bar! It gave me the steady energy I needed to power through the day and was just filling enough without weighing me down. Best of all, it didn't leave me bloated or gassy like some bars can!
I gave one to my friend traveling with me (she's on GLP-1 meds). She tried it and loved it too. (Of course, check with your doctor first if you're on medications like that). We had the chocolate peanut caramel one.
READYBAR is now a permanent resident in my everyday bag. I'm ordering more to stash in my bug-out bag too! It's perfect for travel, emergency snacks, and those "no time to cook" days.
I'm a big fan!!!

It was perfect. Tastes just like a PB&J. I had this bar for breakfast and it kept me feeling full until lunch.

I want to present a careful and fair review of ReadyBar. My experience is based on five long-ish bicycle rides, four fueled by ReadyBar and one fueled by a typical sandwich lunch. I ride with the Grizzly Peak Cycling club, which has more than 900 members and sponsors multiple rides in the Bay Area each day of the week. Serious riding, although the club’s motto is “Ride to eat, eat to ride.”
Ride One
A 35-mile ride to the top of Mt. Tamalpais, towering over the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin County ridgelines. Starting in Mill Valley, California, the ride quickly climbs and climbs and climbs up the mountain. We stopped for lunch at the halfway point, 20 miles up. I ate one ReadyBar and drank water. That’s it for nutrition. No “energy bars”, goo packs, or other calorie blasters. After the descent from the mountain top to Alpine Lake, the route presents a long, exposed climb up the slopes of the watershed. I felt fine on this difficult stretch, and on the twelve miles back to the starting point, culminated by one last climb. No bonking.

Ride Two
Another Marin County ride, from Petaluma to Tomales, then back via Chileno Valley. A beautiful ride with numerous climbs, descents, and rolling West Marin hills. Again, lunch was at the halfway point, 21miles in. I ate one ReadyBar and water. The ride is scenically lovely, but geographically challenging. It’s hard work. But I felt good. No stuffed feeling, no post-lunch bloating or lethargy. And no sugar crash 15 minutes later, like a goo pack. Lots of energy on the fast ride back.

Ride Three
This ride was along the excellent Bay Trail system on the East Bay side of the SF Bay. Almost entirely flat. This time, lunch was at a deli in Point Richmond, CA, where I ate a sandwich with water. In contrast to the rides fueled by ReadyBar, I felt stuffed after lunch. I felt bloated and lethargic compared to the rides with ReadyBar. I was burping lunch fumes for miles after lunch, which didn’t happen with ReadyBar.
2:30 riding time
32 miles
Vertical climb: 237 feet (minimal)
Calories burned: 1,304
Ride Four
Across the Point Reyes peninsula to Drakes Beach and back. Several climbs and lots of up and down. At the half-way point I ate one ReadyBar and drank water. That’s it for nutrition. No “energy bars”, goo packs, or other calorie blasts. I felt great and set a blistering pace back.

Ride Five
From Lake Temescal up and over the top of the Oakland hills, down Redwood Canyon, then back up over the imposing Pinehurst Road climb. I ate one ReadyBar and drank water. That’s it. I felt fine on the long climbs back up to the ridgeline overlooking the Bay. When he made it to the top of the climb up Pinehurst, a riding companion said, “I want what you had for lunch.”

Summary
After a thorough trial-by-fire, my take is that ReadyBar gives me “good clean energy.” The bars taste good, and their dense texture feels substantial without being too filling. In contrast to a typical sandwich lunch, ReadyBar does not give you a stuffed feeling, with no post-lunch bloating or lethargy. And no sugar crashes after 15 minutes, like goo packs or “energy bars”. The bars are sturdily packaged and compact enough for a jersey pocket. ReadyBar is now my go-to nutrition choice for high energy 3+ hour work-outs like distance bike rides.

The sample bar is deliciously good. The size, and the overall ingredients are great! Good job to the team making this yummy bar!

A Great Meal in a Bar……when you are short on time and need the energy….and with great
Flavor Choices!

Loved the sea salt PBJ bar. Great for a boost mid hike. I liked the crunchy peanut texture and the jelly was the right amount of sweet.

Absolutely love the bars! Had a couple and shared with coworkers. I still have a few I'm going to keep in my emergency preparedness kit. And will order more for that. My coworker also ordered an 8 pack for her emergency kit. Ready is a really good term for that market, too, if you haven't thought of that angle. Having been through hurricane Helene last year and living off the grid, I wish I would have had a stash of these at hand. ❤️ great presentation and shipping, the sealed pouches are super cool and have a "NASA"/space food feeling in a good way that invokes confidence.

Everything about this bar is unlike anything I've tried before! The real blueberries impart such a vibrant flavor. The texture of the bar is substantial in the best way! The bar digests easily and doesn't upset my stomach. I am a huge fan of these and will be buying more!!

Loved how filling it was as it was satiating and felt like I had eaten a proper meal. Pbj was super tasty and had a better mouth feel than other bars I’ve had.

The flavors are spot on! Not dry at all, surprisingly long shelf life. Some other meal bars only last a few months and are dry by then. Maybe the heavy duty sleeve is responsible? NASA engineering for sure. High quality packaging for high quality food. I enjoy the smooth texture of the base of the bar, but it has other crunchy ingredients throughout for variety and taste. I really like the middle flavor layer! Kind of like a sandwich cookie, but filling and healthy!

I ordered the sampler pack after hearing about Ready Bar during the Wildland Fire Virtual Wellness Summit. Myself and a few of my engine crew members tried the different flavors over the course of a few weeks. Eating clean during assignments is always challenging and I wanted to try a healthy option to offer my crew. The packaging is heavy duty, they are not going to tear open in your line pack, covering your gear in melted goo (as other meal replacement bars have). After eating one you feel like you've had a meal and not just a snack, we found them to be very satiating. Not having a sugar crash an hour after eating one is awesome. The 500 calorie count is almost twice that of the "builder" style bars that we have used, but without relying on a ton of sugar and syrups, and 5 more grams of protein. Favorite flavors of the crew were the Sea Salt PB&J and Chocolate Peanut Caramel, though I personally really liked the Blueberry Corn Muffin as well. Will definitely be keeping some on the engine going forward!

My review:
Chocolate caramel peanut.
👍Not too sweet, very light salt balances what sweetness there is. I am not a dark chocolate fan but I like the depth of this chocolate.
👎🏼A bit "dry" mouth feel. Very dense/firm, I slice it as it's difficult for me to get a bite from the bar.
Oatmeal Creme
👍Love the oatmeal bar, good mouth feel and flavor. Not too sweet.
👎🏼 Strongly dislike the " creme" filling. Too hard and chewy/stretchy. Reminds me of Laffy Taffy. Needs work or Maybe try raisin, fig, prune paste? Like the jam in PB&J bar. That takes a different route but maybe...?
Cornmeal Blueberry
👍 Simple, clean flavor. Not too sweet. A basic bar.
👎🏼Reduce the salt by a smidge. Could raspberry be thrown in there too? Would add a little "brightness".
PB&J
👍 My fave! texture👍taste👍 moistness 👍
👎🏼None
CONGRATULATIONS! You have a great product.

I toss it in my go-bag and know that I'm covered. I love the peanut caramel layer - this is my fav then pb&j. After eating, I feel satiated and not dragging which is extremely important to me.

The packing and branding was visually appealing and exuded quality & purpose. The fact it has 500 calories in a single pack, gives me confidence when I am in between airports that I won’t go hungry when constrained for time. I have started carrying them in my backpack.
